Global Engineering Exchange: 5 French Students Join ITC for Semester Studies
PHNOM PENH, February 16, 2026 鈥 The Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) officially welcomed five exchange students from France this morning, marking the start of their one-semester academic journey in the Kingdom.
These students will be integrated into four of Techno鈥檚 most prestigious and technically demanding departments, fostering a cross-cultural exchange of engineering knowledge and innovation.
Diverse Engineering Disciplines
The visiting scholars have been placed across a spectrum of specializations that are critical to Cambodia鈥檚 industrial growth:
- GEE (G茅nie 脡lectrique et 脡nerg茅tique): Department of Electrical and Energy Engineering.
- GCI (G茅nie Civil): Department of Civil Engineering.
- GIM (G茅nie Industriel et M茅canique): Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering.
- AMS (Applied Mathematics and Statistics): A department focused on data science, modeling, and analytical foundations.
A Legacy of French-Cambodian Cooperation
ITC has a long history of collaboration with French institutions, often supported by programs like Erasmus+ and partnerships with schools such as ECAM LaSalle and IMT Mines Al猫s. This exchange is a testament to:
- Academic Reciprocity: ITC students often travel to France for internships and double degrees; now, French students are reciprocating the journey to gain experience in the Southeast Asian context.
- Multilingual Environment: With curricula often offered in English and French alongside Khmer, ITC remains the most accessible gateway for European engineering students in Cambodia.
- Hands-on Research: Exchange students will have access to Techno鈥檚 specialized labs, including the Power and Energy Engineering Lab and the Road Materials Laboratory.
